Missionary Shary Frahm – Serving in Cambodia

Meet Sharolyn (Shary) Frahm

 Serving the Lord in Cambodia

George n Shary bamyon treeBirthday Shary:    December 30

I am Shary Frahm, currently a missionary into the villages and rural peoples of Cambodia, in the Siem Reap area. Being retired didn’t initially include being officially employed by the largest global enterprise in the world, namely God and His church. Yet He has moved my heart and humbly shaped me into this current ministry platform to Cambodia, a county in Southeast Asia with 15 million people, 95% of whom are Buddhist. Actually Cambodia is a new country being only independent since 1993 after a devastating country wide genocide of 25% of its people.

My official ministry platform has spanned a mere 20+ years with my husband George starting with the local university setting in Saginaw, Michigan, where international students came to study and experience American culture and life. It was there that the beginnings of an outreach to those students led many of them to know and accept Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. More recently we accepted a position to live in Indonesia to share our lives with young adults of all faiths in a Christian university, our first assignment outside the local community. Cambodia is now my second international calling. With each of these last two moves came the adaptation and experience of living cross-culturally.

God equips the called and calls the equipped. He is doing that with us each and every day here and in the years gone by. God would have everyone in Cambodia to come to a knowledge of the truth and eternal salvation. God has been in Cambodia since creation, but has chosen now for His mission for those people to know Him even more.

I have already been in Cambodia nearly ten years with George, working toward growing the church communities and families. As George has now been called home and has received his heavenly crown of standing somewhere at God’s right hand, I will continue to work with Pastor Chut Heang (Samuel)  in those targeted areas of Siem Reap community development to help the local communities prosper into sustainable vibrant church bodies to share the Good News from within. That focus will continue into a pocket of communities, as we have already built those initial relationships. George’s footprint on this hollow ground remains there, and I will continue in that stead going forward. God has a plan in each of these chapters in our lives, and that includes this time and this place, and these folks as well.

You are invited as individuals or as a church to partner with me in this ministry with prayer, financial support, communication, and short term mission visits. I will share true life stories and an update as to how things are progressing and how the local church is faring.I would also love to hear from you and know your prayer needs and blessings as we serve Him together.
