Sarah Burr, headed for ministry in Paraguay, is first studying Spanish in Guatemala. She is into her fourth week and besides learning Spanish, is helping to teach English to Guatemalan children who are on school break, and getting to explore some of God’s beautiful creation around Xela, including climbing old volcanoes overlooking active ones! Tim and Beth Heiney, missionaries to Guinea — together with other missionaries from the region — are urgently appealing for Christians to join together in a day of prayer and fasting for the 3 countries devastated by the Ebola virus outbreak: Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. With preparations completed, Jim and Liisa Tino boarded a plane to begin their ministry in Santiago, Chile today! As previous missionaries to Latin America, they already are fluent in Spanish, and so they are hitting the ground running on arrival. At the same time, they ask for prayers as they look for a house, buy a vehicle and get set up for a new life in Chile.

Tim and Beth Heiney now ask for prayer for the family of Moses, the Lutheran clinic worker who was missing in Guinea, West Africa. They update that authorities have discovered the bodies of Moses and other clinic personnel tragically murdered in the depraved chaos which arose out of the spreading panic from ebola.
The Heineys request prayer especially for two of their Lutheran coworkers who represent the thousands of people suffering in Guinea and neighboring countries.
