Sam and Brooke have been passionate about Christian Mission work for a long time.
They especially agree that every believer is a missionary as we follow Jesus into the world, as close as our own backyards.
Getting curious about what Jesus is doing has led them to Mexico, Germany, all over Michigan, and to serve as a family in Paraguay, South America.
Upon returning from Paraguay, they became missionaries to the under-served Hispanic population in the Michigan Farmlands northeast of Lansing. Five years later, they moved to Flint where they quickly partnered with many sectors of Christian Missions around Flint, Michigan.
Brooke currently works at NewLife Lutheran Church in Swartz Creek, Michigan as the Worship and Music Director, and the three children are attending school in that area; anywhere from beginning High School to graduating college.
In August 2026, Sam took the mission position of “Evangelist” with Faith Lutheran Church and School in Hialeah, Florida (a large, mainly Cuban community near Miami). There he is working to bring the church and the school together in unity so that together they can reach the surrounding community with the Good News of the Gospel. He is working with Reverend James Tino to learn the inner-workings of the two institutions, as well as learning missional formation in the pastoral role, with the goal of taking classes to further his knowledge towards ordination.
The family stays together through frequent phone calls and in-person visits, as they each strive to stay in tune to God’s mission and how they live it out.
“We especially love how you care about the souls here in the U. S. It is important that we have missionaries within our own borders!” – A monthly supporter in mission.
