Birthdays:
Steve: May 31
Marco: June 20, 2007

As we all know, life is full of twists and turns. That is also true for me.

My life in the foreign mission field began in Zacapa, Guatemala in 1985 where I was a vicar for two years. During that time, my world changed. I learned that the world was a lot bigger than the United States. And when I returned to the States, I discovered that there was a Guatemala piece that was missing from my life.

Over the past 30 years, I have been a journeyman in ministry. I have served in many places – in New York City; in Jamaica as a missionary; twice in Michigan (Detroit and St. Johns); three congregations in Illinois Peoria, Chicago, and Aurora); and Phoenix, Arizona. I have been served as a church planter, missionary, sole pastor, and associate pastor. In every place, my goal was that the neighbors would know that the church was open to them.

My wife Jill and I adopted a boy from Guatemala in 2008. In 2013, Jill died suddenly and so now Marco and I form a team. He is looking forward to living close to volcanoes and swimming in the ocean. I love Ephesians 2:10, where Paul reminds us that we are God’s workmanship to do the works that God has prepared for us beforehand. God has formed me for a unique place in His kingdom and I look forward to seeing how the Lord will use Marco and I in Guatemala.
