After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in business and education, I taught English and coached basketball before embarking on a long-term career in marketing, sales and management in insurance and health care related fields.
In 2013, I accompanied my grandson to Uganda where we led VBS and worship for students, teachers and the local community. The Lord planted a seed in my heart and a year later I lived in Kyrgyzstan for seven months where I homeschooled two American students and taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to many local students, ages 7-43.
Four years ago, I returned to my passion for teaching students and equipping them for life after high school. I taught on-level English III, IV, AP Language and AP Literature, and dual enrollment college level English at Newman International Academy of Arlington. Additionally, I voluntarily taught ESL to adult students from across the globe at Grace Church in Arlington for 3 years.
“Here Am I, Lord. I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.” This is my song and prayer.
God is leading me to Mwadui, Tanzania where I will teach secondary students English and help them prepare for higher education and their futures. What a glorious gift to me at this time in my life.
