IMMIGRANT OUTREACH
In December we lead a workshop titled: “How do I adapt to my new life in Chile?”
About 20 people were in attendance – almost all Venezuelans!
Cultural adaptation is a series of ups and downs.
There were tears and smiles as people shared about their immigrant struggles.
Pastor Jim shared advice on dealing with culture shock – including looking for spiritual stability in God’s Word.
Our next event was a “Cena Navideña”, or Christmas Dinner – Venezuelan style! We had a small group, but everyone enjoyed…
HALLACAS (ah – YA – kas)…tamale-like corn meal and meat dish…
…and PAN DE JAMÓN and ponche crema! ¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!
