Debido a todo lo que teníamos que hacer en Julio (Cursos de Vacacionesde GO y el proceso del Permiso de Trabajo) más la lesión de Bel y algunos otros quebrantos de salud de Sofia, Julio resulto ser un mes muy complicado,decidimos posponerla para mediados de agosto, ya teníamos el tema y las lecciones. Y Dios por medio de varias personas proveyó, materiales para manualidades, refacciones y premios. Yo Estaba muy nervioso por contar la historia misioneraen inglés. Yo empecé, y terminó el pastor Keith con una adaptación al creole de Guyana.

Because of all the things that took place in July, (Vacation courses and GO and the work permitprocess) plus Belen’s injury, and other health issues with Sofía, July became a difficult month. The date for BVS was postponed to August and we had the lessons and material ready. God, through many people, provided the supplies for the crafts, snacks, and prizes. I was very nervous about sharing the missionary stories in English, so I started, and Pastor Keith finished with an adaption to the Guyanese Creole.

Curso de Vacaciones en GO / Vacation course at GO

Como es de esperar en Julio se realizaron cursos de vacaciones en Guyanese Outreach, por las mañanas tuvimos cursos de reparación de computadoras, reparación de celulares y introducción a diseño web gracias a Dios contamos con el apoyo de Nathaniel que vino desde los estados unidos a compartir su tiempo y su conocimiento. Por las tardes con los chicos del programa de refuerzo escolar de primero a tercero primaria se realizo un curso de vacaciones donde apoyamos con las manualidades para los 3 grados y al final del curso compartimos un pequeño regalo con los niños (una galleta waffle, una gelatina y un mashmellow) de parte de todos los que formamos esta misión.

As we had anticipated, the Vacation Courses took place at Guyanese Outreach in July. The morning courses included Computer Repair, cell phone repair, and Web introduction. Thank God we received help from Nathaniel who came from the United States to share his time and his knowledge. During the afternoon we worked with the children from the school supplemental classes program (1st to 3rd grade). They had English, Mathematics, and crafts. We helped with the crafts. On the last day, we had the opportunity to share a small gift with the children(cookie, Jello, and Marshmallow) from all of us who are doing the mission.

Nuevos retos en la Misión / New mision challenges

Es increíble pero en el tiempo que fuimos a Guatemala se perdió continuidad a algunas cosas que habíamos realizado por ejemplo los grupos de oración de los días martes (Iglesia Emmanuel) y miércoles (iglesia luterana Saint Philip) no continuaron o no siguieron constantemente, por lo que toca volverlos a reactivar, también ahora regresamos cargados de material para trabajar escuela dominical, escuela bíblica de vacaciones, entre otros proyectos que estamos preparando pero este viaje nos hace reflexionar no queremos que lo que ocurrió con los grupos de oración suceda con los demás proyectos, así que llego la hora de buscar líderes! Pero encontrar a la persona indicada es difícil, por eso necesitamos que lo agreguen a sus motivos de oración. Muchas más cosas has pasado, pero se las contaremos en nuestra primera reunión de círculos de misión así que atentos que pronto llegara la información.

It is crazy, but while we were in Guatemala some of the work we had started stopped, For example, prayer meetings were held in Emmanuel and Sait Philips, one church continued, and the other one stopped so we had to restart them again. We came back with material for Sunday school and VBS, and we pray that God opens doors, so the work we started won’t be lost. To make sure that the work doesn’t stop we are praying for leaders, that can be teachers, people that pray, and cover the different needs of the church. Please pray with us for these projects. Many other things are happening that we would like to tell you about in the first meeting for mission circles, we will share the information for the meeting very soon.

Estamos de vuelta!! Guyana / We’re Back Guyana!

El primero de Mayo salimos de Ciudad de Guatemala rumbo a Panamá gracias a Dios todo salió bien en la escala en Panamá y ese día salimos de Panamá para llegar al día siguiente a Guyana donde nuestros amigos Erika y David (Misioneros de El Salvador y Costa Rica)se encargaron de nuestro hospedaje durante nuestra estadía en Georgetown. El Pastor Jones nos ayudó coordinando el trasporte del aeropuerto y el pastor John se encargó del transporte de la capital de Guyana a la frontera con Surinamdonde finalmente llegamos el día 4 de mayo de 2024 fue un viaje largo y me encantará contarles a más detalle cómo fueron nuestros primeros días en Guyana durante el newsletter de Mayo.

On May first, we left Guatemala City and headed to Panama. Thanks to God everything went well on the layover at Panama Airport. On the same day, we flew to Guyana and arrived the next morning in George Town Guyana, where our friends Erika and David (missionaries from El Salvador and Costa Richa) hosted us during our stay in Georgetown, our dear friend pastorJones came to pick us up at the airport and Pastor John and his wife took us from Georgetown to Berbice, Corriverton (located at the border with Surinam) where we finally arrived on May 4th. It was a long trip. I’m looking forward to sharing more about our first days in Guyana In our May newsletter.
