Logros importantes / Important Achievements

Como es de esperarse hemos visto avances en las clases de música, Nazarene Church y las clases de flauta tendrán una presentación próximamente con la canción “God is so Good”, las chicas de New Testament están aprendiendo sus primeras canciones y están empezando practicar a tocar juntas, Guyanese Outreach continúan los devocionales con el personal, hemos sido testigos como Dios une al equipo de trabajo, las visitas a miembros de las iglesias Saint Philip y Emmanuel esta dando frutos ahora tenemos 2 días de visita a la semana y cada día se unen más personas, seguimos con el Evangelismo en Funerales como dato curioso las personas en Guyana prefieren hacer… Bodas hindúes y Funerales Cristianos no importa la religiónque se practique.

As expected, we have seen some advances in the music lessons. At Nazarene church, the kids will have a presentation soon with the recorder playing “God is So Good”. The girls from New Testament Church are learning their first songs and starting to play together. In Guyanese Outreach the Devotionals with the staff continue, and we have witnessed how God brings the work team together. The home visits with members from Saint Philips and Emmanuel churches take place twice a week and they are giving their first fruits, more people are joining every week. We continue with evangelism at funerals. And as a fun fact: People in Guyana would rather choose a Hindu wedding and a Christian funeral, regardless of the religion they practice.

Nuevos Proyectos / New projects

En marzo vamos a comenzar los cursos de computación en el edificio de Guyanese Outreach, la duración del curso será de dos meses y estaré trabajando lo que es Word para principiantes, al mismo tiempo en la mañana estaré capacitando al personal de Guyanese Outreach en el uso de Excel y Google Suit. También debo comentarles que el proyecto de una app del himnario luterano de Guyana va avanzando ahora cuento con el apoyo de Taeshiko Fraser hemoslo grado transcribir 143 de los 486 esperamos que para finales de abril la aplicación ya este disponible en Google Playstore, Gracias a todos por su apoyo hemos podido hacer esto posible, y también comenzare ha trabajar para realizarlos himnarios que usamos en Guatemala.

In March we will start the computer classes at the Guyanese Outreach building, the course length will be two months. I will be teaching Word for beginners, and during the mornings I´ll teach GO staff Excel and Google Suit. I also want to mention that the project of the app of the Guyanese Lutheran Hymnal is coming along. With the help of Taeshiko Fraser, we have written 143 of the 486, we are expecting to be done by the end of April. The app will be available on the Google Play store. We want to thank all of you because through your help this has been possible. Later I will also start working with the hymnals used in Guatemala.

Comenzamos Limpiando / We started cleaning

Este año queremos mejorar un poco la organización en la Iglesia Emmanuel donde asistimos regularmente, así que en la oficina pastoral/clase dominical/bodega, hemos empezado a organizar y es que es un espacio que normalmente usamos para varias cosas, así que hemos motivado a la iglesia a que compre cajas plásticas para organizar las cosas que hay ahí y junto al Diacono Keith nos tomamos la tarea de ordenar y limpiar el lugar… ese finde semana que estábamos organizando la limpieza los hermanos de Emmanuel nos contaron que durante la semana habían intentado robar uno de los depósitos de agua de la casa pastoral, los hermanos vieron como dos hombres intentaban llevarse el depósito y cuando estos hombres vieron a los hermanos se dieron a la fuga, ahora tenemos un deposito de agua dentro de la iglesia, los hermanos quieren cercar toda el área de la iglesia antes de volverlo a colocar.

This year we would like to improve the organization of Emmanuel Church, which is the church attended every Sunday. So, we already started to organize the pastor´s office/classroom for Sunday school/storage room. We asked the church to buy plastic boxes, and with Deacon Keith, we cleaned and organized. During the same week, some of the members of the church saw some men trying to steal the water deposit from the pastor´s house, the men ran away when they saw the church members. The water deposit is inside the church now, so church members want to fence it all around before putting it back.

Reiniciando Clases de música / Restarting the music classes

El programa de música del que formamos parte con Guyanese Outreach necesitaba comenzar clases de nuevo, así que pusimos manos a la obra, comenzamos a contactar a las iglesias con la que estuvimos trabajando el año pasado, de las 5 iglesias con las que trabajamoseste año solo vamos a trabajar con 3 de ellas: Iglesia Pentecostal del Nuevo Testamento, Iglesia del Nazareno El Olivo y La Iglesia del Evangelio Completo Agape, Lamentablemente factores como la migración a afectado en las otras 2 iglesias donde los alumnos han migrado, o han conseguido trabajo y el horariono les permite seguir, o están en actividades extra curriculares en la escuela.

The music program that we are part of with Guyanan Outreach needed to start classes again. So, we got down to work, contacting churches that we were working with last year. Out of the five churches we were working with, we are currently only working with three: New Testament Church, Oliverth Nazarene Church, and Full Gospel Agape Church. The students from the other two churches have moved, some are working, their schedules have changed some are working, and others have different activities in school.
