1 Corinthians 9:24-10:5

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control,lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
1 I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 and all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

24 ¿No sabéis que los que corren en el estadio, todos a la verdad corren, mas sólo uno se lleva el premio? Corred de tal manera que lo obtengáis. 25 Y todo aquel que lucha, de todo se abstiene; y ellos, a la verdad, para recibir una corona corruptible; pero nosotros, una incorruptible. 26 Así que, yo de esta manera corro, no como a la ventura; de esta manera peleo, no como quien golpea el aire, 27 sino que sujeto mi cuerpo, y lo pongo en servidumbre; no sea que habiendo predicado a otros, yo mismo venga a ser reprobado.

1 Mas no quiero, hermanos, que ignoréis que nuestros padres todos estuvieron bajo la nube, y todos pasaron a través del mar; 2 y todos en Moisés fueron bautizados en la nube y en el mar; 3 y todos comieron el mismo alimento espiritual; 4 y todos bebieron la misma bebida espiritual; porque bebían de la Roca espiritual que los seguía, y la Roca era Cristo. 5 Pero Dios no se agradó de muchos de ellos; por lo cual quedaron postrados en el desierto.

Matthew 17:1-9

1 And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him. 4 And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 5 He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son,*n1 with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” 8 And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. 9 And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, *xu“Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

Mateo 17:1-9

1 Y después de seis días, Jesús tomó a Pedro, y a Jacobo, y a Juan su hermano, y los llevó aparte a un monte alto; 2 y se transfiguró delante de ellos; y su rostro resplandeció como el sol, y su vestidura se hizo blanca como la luz. 3 Y he aquí les aparecieron Moisés y Elías, hablando con Él. 4 Entonces respondiendo Pedro, dijo a Jesús: Señor, bueno es que estemos aquí; si quieres, hagamos aquí tres tabernáculos; uno para ti, uno para Moisés, y uno para Elías. 5 Mientras Él aún hablaba, una nube resplandeciente los cubrió; y he aquí una voz desde la nube, que decía: Éste es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo contentamiento; a Él oíd. 6 Y oyendo esto los discípulos, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y temieron en gran manera. 7 Entonces Jesús vino y los tocó, y dijo: “Levantaos, y no temáis.” 8 Y alzando ellos sus ojos a nadie vieron, sino a Jesús solo. 9 Y cuando descendieron del monte, Jesús les mandó, diciendo: “No digáis a nadie la visión, hasta que el Hijo del Hombre resucite de los muertos.”

John 2:1-11

1 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. 3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. 9 When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” 11 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Juan 2:1-11

1 Y al tercer día se hicieron unas bodas en Caná de Galilea; y estaba allí la madre de Jesús. 2 Y fueron también invitados a las bodas Jesús y sus discípulos. 3 Y faltando el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: No tienen vino. 4 Jesús le dijo: “¿Qué tengo yo contigo, mujer?” Aún no ha venido mi hora. 5 Su madre dijo a los siervos: Haced todo lo que Él os dijere. 6 Y estaban allí seis tinajas de piedra para agua, conforme a la purificación de los judíos, y en cada una cabían dos o tres cántaros. 7 Jesús les dijo: “Llenad de agua estas tinajas.” Y las llenaron hasta arriba. 8 Y les dijo: “Sacad ahora, y llevadla al maestresala.” Y se la llevaron. 9 Y cuando el maestresala probó el agua hecha vino, y no sabía de dónde era (mas lo sabían los siervos que habían sacado el agua), el maestresala llamó al esposo, 10 y le dijo: Todo hombre sirve primero el buen vino, y cuando ya han bebido mucho, entonces el que es inferior, pero tú has guardado el buen vino hasta ahora. 11 Este principio de milagros hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y manifestó su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en Él.

Matthew 3:13-17

13 hen Jesus came *xlfrom Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son,*n1 with whom I am well pleased.”

13 Entonces Jesús vino de Galilea a Juan al Jordán, para ser bautizado por él. 14 Pero Juan le resistía, diciendo: Yo necesito ser bautizado por ti, ¿y tú vienes a mí? 15 Pero Jesús respondió, y le dijo: “Deja ahora; porque nos es preciso cumplir así toda justicia.” Entonces le dejó. 16 Y Jesús, después que fue bautizado, subió luego del agua; y he aquí los cielos le fueron abiertos, y vio al Espíritu de Dios que descendía como paloma, y venía sobre Él. 17 Y he aquí una voz del cielo que decía: Éste es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo contentamiento.

Matthew 2:13-15

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” 14 And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt 15 and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

Mateo 2:13-15

13 Y habiendo ellos partido, he aquí el ángel del Señor apareció en un sueño a José, diciendo: Levántate, toma al niño y a su madre, y huye a Egipto, y quédate allá hasta que yo te diga; porque Herodes buscará al niño para matarlo. 14 Y despertando él, tomó de noche al niño y a su madre y se fue a Egipto; 15 y estuvo allá hasta la muerte de Herodes; para que se cumpliese lo que dijo el Señor por medio del profeta, diciendo: De Egipto llamé a mi Hijo.

1 Samuel 2:1-10

1 And Hannah prayed and said,
“My heart exults in the Lord;
my strength is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth derides my enemies,
because I rejoice in your salvation.
2 There is none holy like the Lord;
there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.
3 Talk no more so very proudly,
let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
and by him actions are weighed.
4 The bows of the mighty are broken,
but the feeble bind on strength.
5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread,
but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger.
The barren has borne seven,but she who has many children is forlorn.
6 The Lord kills and brings to life;
he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
7 The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and he exalts.
8 He raises up the poor from the dust;
he lifts the needy from the ash heap
to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor.
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
and on them he has set the world.
9 He will guard the feet of his faithful ones,
but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness,
for not by might shall a man prevail.
10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces;
against them he will thunder in heaven.
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth;
he will give strength to his king
and exalt the power of his anointed.”

1 Samuel 2_1-10

1 Y Ana oró y dijo: Mi corazón se regocija en Jehová, mi cuerno es ensalzado en Jehová; mi boca se ensanchó sobre mis enemigos, por cuanto me alegré en tu salvación. 2 No hay santo como Jehová: Porque no hay ninguno fuera de ti; y no hay Roca como el Dios nuestro. 3 No multipliquéis palabras de grandeza y altanerías; cesen las palabras arrogantes de vuestra boca; porque el Dios de todo saber es Jehová, y a Él toca el pesar las acciones. 4 Los arcos de los fuertes fueron quebrados, y los débiles se ciñeron de fortaleza. 5 Los saciados se alquilaron por pan; y los hambrientos dejaron de estarlo; aun la estéril dio a luz a siete, y la que tenía muchos hijos languidece. 6 Jehová mata, y Él da vida: Él hace descender al sepulcro, y hace subir. 7 Jehová empobrece, y Él enriquece: Abate, y enaltece. 8 Él levanta del polvo al pobre, y del muladar exalta al menesteroso, para hacerle sentar con príncipes, y hacerle heredar un trono de honor. Porque de Jehová son las columnas de la tierra, y Él asentó sobre ellas el mundo. 9 Él guarda los pies de sus santos, mas los impíos perecen en tinieblas; porque nadie prevalecerá por su propia fuerza. 10 Delante de Jehová serán quebrantados sus adversarios, desde el cielo tronará sobre ellos: Jehová juzgará los términos de la tierra, dará fortaleza a su Rey, y exaltará el cuerno de su Mesías.
