John 13:1-20

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. 18 ¶I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Juan 13:1-20

1 Y antes de la fiesta de la pascua, sabiendo Jesús que su hora había llegado para que pasase de este mundo al Padre, como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin. 2 Y cuando terminó la cena, el diablo habiendo ya puesto en el corazón de Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, que le entregase; 3 sabiendo Jesús que el Padre le había dado todas las cosas en sus manos, y que había venido de Dios, y a Dios iba, 4 se levantó de la cena, y se quitó su túnica, y tomando una toalla, se ciñó. 5 Luego puso agua en un lebrillo, y comenzó a lavar los pies de los discípulos, y a enjugarlos con la toalla con que estaba ceñido. 6 Entonces vino a Simón Pedro; y Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿tú me lavas los pies? 7 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: “Lo que yo hago, tú no lo entiendes ahora; pero lo entenderás después.” 8 Pedro le dijo: No me lavarás los pies jamás. Jesús le respondió: “Si no te lavare, no tendrás parte conmigo.” 9 Le dijo Simón Pedro: Señor, no sólo mis pies, sino también mis manos y mi cabeza. 10 Le dijo Jesús: “El que ha sido lavado, no necesita sino que lave sus pies, porque está todo limpio; y vosotros sois limpios, aunque no todos.” 11 Pues Él sabía quién le iba a entregar, por eso dijo: “No sois limpios todos.” 12 Así que, después que les hubo lavado los pies, y que hubo tomado su túnica, se sentó otra vez, y les dijo: “¿Sabéis lo que os he hecho?” 13 “Vosotros me llamáis Maestro, y Señor, y decís bien, porque lo soy.” 14 “Pues si yo, vuestro Señor y Maestro, he lavado vuestros pies, vosotros también debéis lavaros los pies los unos a los otros.” 15 “Porque ejemplo os he dado, para que también vosotros hagáis como yo os he hecho.” 16 “De cierto, de cierto os digo: El siervo no es mayor que su señor, ni el enviado es mayor que el que le envió.” 17 “Si sabéis estas cosas, bienaventurados seréis si las hiciereis.” 18 “No hablo de todos vosotros; yo conozco a los que he escogido; mas para que se cumpla la Escritura: El que come pan conmigo, levantó contra mí su calcañar.” 19 “Desde ahora os lo digo, antes que suceda, para que cuando suceda, creáis que yo soy.” 20 “De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que recibe al que yo enviare, a mí me recibe; y el que a mí recibe, recibe al que me envió.”

Matthew 21:19; 27:11-56

1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. 3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. 12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? 14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. 15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. 16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. 17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? 18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. 19 ¶When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24 ¶When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26 ¶Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 ¶And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. 33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 ¶They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there; 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 ¶And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. 48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. 50 ¶Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. 55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: 56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.

1 Y cuando se acercaron a Jerusalén, y vinieron a Betfagé, al monte de los Olivos; entonces Jesús envió dos discípulos, 2 diciéndoles: “Id a la aldea que está delante de vosotros, y luego hallaréis una asna atada, y un pollino con ella; desatadla, y traédmelos.” 3 “Y si alguno os dijere algo, decid: El Señor los necesita; y luego los enviará.” 4 Todo esto fue hecho para que se cumpliese lo que fue dicho por el profeta, que dijo: 5 Decid a la hija de Sión: He aquí tu Rey viene a ti, manso, y sentado sobre una asna, y un pollino hijo de animal de yugo. 6 Y los discípulos fueron, e hicieron como Jesús les mandó; 7 y trajeron el asna y el pollino, y pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos, y le sentaron encima. 8 Y la multitud, que era muy numerosa, tendía sus mantos en el camino, y otros cortaban ramas de los árboles y las tendían en el camino. 9 Y las multitudes que iban delante y los que iban detrás aclamaban, diciendo: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!

11 Y Jesús estaba en pie delante del gobernador; y el gobernador le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos? Y Jesús le dijo: “Tú lo dices.” 12 Y siendo acusado por los príncipes de los sacerdotes y por los ancianos, nada respondió. 13 Pilato entonces le dijo: ¿No oyes cuántas cosas testifican contra ti? 14 Y Él no le respondió ni una palabra; de tal manera que el gobernador se maravillaba mucho. 15 Y en el día de la fiesta el gobernador acostumbraba soltar al pueblo a un preso, el que quisiesen. 16 Y tenían entonces un preso famoso llamado Barrabás. 17 Y reuniéndose ellos, Pilato les dijo: ¿A quién queréis que os suelte; a Barrabás, o a Jesús que es llamado el Cristo? 18 Porque sabía que por envidia le habían entregado. 19 Y estando él sentado en el tribunal, su esposa envió a él, diciendo: No tengas nada que ver con ese justo; porque hoy he padecido muchas cosas en sueños por causa de Él. 20 Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos persuadieron a la multitud que pidiese a Barrabás, y que dieran muerte a Jesús. 21 Y el gobernador respondiendo, les dijo: ¿A cuál de los dos queréis que os suelte? Y ellos dijeron: A Barrabás. 22 Pilato les dijo: ¿Qué, pues, haré con Jesús, que es llamado el Cristo? Todos le dijeron: ¡Sea crucificado! 23 Y el gobernador les dijo: Pues, ¿qué mal ha hecho? Pero ellos gritaban aún más, diciendo: ¡Sea crucificado! 24 Y viendo Pilato que nada adelantaba, antes se hacía más alboroto, tomó agua y se lavó las manos delante del pueblo, diciendo: Inocente soy yo de la sangre de este justo; vedlo vosotros. 25 Y respondiendo todo el pueblo dijo: Su sangre sea sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros hijos. 26 Entonces les soltó a Barrabás; y habiendo azotado a Jesús, le entregó para ser crucificado. 27 Entonces los soldados del gobernador llevaron a Jesús al pretorio, y reunieron alrededor de Él a toda la cuadrilla; 28 y desnudándole, le pusieron encima un manto escarlata. 29 Y tejiendo una corona de espinas, la pusieron sobre su cabeza; y una caña en su mano derecha, e hincada la rodilla delante de Él, le escarnecían, diciendo: ¡Salve, Rey de los judíos! 30 Y escupían en Él, y tomando la caña, le herían en la cabeza. 31 Y después que le hubieron escarnecido, le quitaron el manto, y poniéndole sus vestiduras, le llevaron para crucificarle. 32 Y saliendo, hallaron a un hombre de Cirene que se llamaba Simón; a éste obligaron a cargar su cruz. 33 Y cuando llegaron al lugar llamado Gólgota, que quiere decir, el lugar de la calavera, 34 le dieron a beber vinagre mezclado con hiel; y después de haberlo probado, no quiso beberlo. 35 Y después que le hubieron crucificado, repartieron sus vestiduras, echando suertes; para que se cumpliese lo que fue dicho por el profeta: Repartieron entre sí mis vestiduras, y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes. 36 Y sentados le guardaban allí. 37 Y pusieron sobre su cabeza su causa escrita: ÉSTE ES JESÚS EL REY DE LOS JUDÍOS. 38 Entonces fueron crucificados con Él, dos ladrones, uno a la derecha, y otro a la izquierda. 39 Y los que pasaban le injuriaban, meneando sus cabezas, 40 y diciendo: Tú que derribas el templo, y en tres días lo reedificas, sálvate a ti mismo. Si eres el Hijo de Dios, desciende de la cruz. 41 De esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes, escarneciéndole con los escribas y los ancianos, decían: 42 A otros salvó; a sí mismo no se puede salvar. Si es el Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, y creeremos en Él. 43 Confió en Dios; líbrele ahora si le quiere, porque ha dicho: Yo soy el Hijo de Dios. 44 Los ladrones que estaban crucificados con Él, también le injuriaban. 45 Y desde la hora sexta hubo tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora novena. 46 Y cerca de la hora novena, Jesús exclamó a gran voz, diciendo: “Elí, Elí, ¿lama sabactani?” Esto es: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado? 47 Y algunos de los que estaban allí, oyéndolo, decían: A Elías llama Éste. 48 Y al instante, corriendo uno de ellos, tomó una esponja, y la empapó de vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, le dio a beber. 49 Y los otros decían: Deja, veamos si viene Elías a librarle. 50 Mas Jesús, habiendo otra vez clamado a gran voz, entregó el espíritu. 51 Y he aquí, el velo del templo se rasgó en dos, de arriba abajo, y la tierra tembló, y las piedras se partieron: 52 Y los sepulcros fueron abiertos, y muchos cuerpos de los santos que habían dormido, se levantaron; 53 y saliendo de los sepulcros, después de su resurrección, vinieron a la santa ciudad y aparecieron a muchos. 54 Y el centurión y los que estaban con él guardando a Jesús, visto el terremoto, y las cosas que habían sido hechas, temieron en gran manera, y dijeron: Verdaderamente Éste era el Hijo de Dios. 55 Y muchas mujeres estaban allí mirando de lejos, las cuales habían seguido a Jesús desde Galilea, sirviéndole. 56 Entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo y de José, y la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo.

John 8:46-59

46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that *xfyou are not of God.” 48 The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” 49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. 50 Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is One who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” 52 The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.’ 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?” 54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’55 But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” 57 So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.

Juan 8:46-59

46 “¿Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Y si digo la verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?” 47 “El que es de Dios, las palabras de Dios oye; por eso no las oís vosotros, porque no sois de Dios.” 48 Respondieron entonces los judíos, y le dijeron: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres samaritano, y que tienes demonio? 49 Respondió Jesús: “Yo no tengo demonio, antes honro a mi Padre; y vosotros me deshonráis.” 50 “Y yo no busco mi gloria, hay quien la busca, y juzga.” 51 “De cierto, de cierto os digo, si alguno guarda mi palabra, jamás verá muerte.” 52 Entonces los judíos le dijeron: Ahora conocemos que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y los profetas; y tú dices: El que guarda mi palabra, jamás probará muerte. 53 ¿Eres tú mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? También los profetas murieron. ¿Quién te haces a ti mismo? 54 Respondió Jesús: “Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi gloria nada es; mi Padre es el que me glorifica; el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios.” 55 “Y vosotros no le conocéis; pero yo le conozco; y si dijere que no le conozco, sería mentiroso como vosotros, pero yo le conozco, y guardo su palabra.” 56 “Abraham vuestro padre se regocijó de ver mi día; y lo vio, y se gozó.” 57 Le dijeron entonces los judíos: Aún no tienes cincuenta años, ¿y has visto a Abraham? 58 Jesús les dijo: “De cierto, de cierto os digo: Antes que Abraham fuese, yo soy.” 59 Entonces tomaron piedras para arrojárselas; pero Jesús se encubrió, y salió del templo atravesando por en medio de ellos, y así pasó.

Joihn 6:1-15

1 After this Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. 2 And a large crowd was following him, because they saw the signs that he was doing on the sick. 3 Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. 4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. 5 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” 6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. 7 Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little.” 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, 9 “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” 13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten. 14 When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world! 15 Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

1 Después de estas cosas, Jesús se fue al otro lado del mar de Galilea, que es de Tiberias. 2 Y le seguía gran multitud, porque veían sus milagros que hacía en los enfermos. 3 Y subió Jesús a un monte, y se sentó allí con sus discípulos. 4 Y estaba cerca la pascua, la fiesta de los judíos. 5 Cuando Jesús alzó sus ojos, y vio una gran multitud que había venido a Él, dijo a Felipe: “¿De dónde compraremos pan para que coman éstos?” 6 Pero esto decía para probarle; pues Él sabía lo que iba a hacer. 7 Felipe le respondió: Doscientos denarios de pan no les bastarían para que cada uno de ellos tome un poco. 8 Uno de sus discípulos, Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, le dijo: 9 Un muchacho está aquí que tiene cinco panes de cebada y dos pececillos; pero ¿qué es esto entre tantos? 10 Entonces Jesús dijo: “Haced recostar los hombres.” Y había mucha hierba en aquel lugar; y se recostaron, en número como de cinco mil varones. 11 Y Jesús tomando los panes, habiendo dado gracias, los repartió a los discípulos, y los discípulos a los que estaban recostados; y asimismo de los peces, cuanto querían. 12 Y cuando se hubieron saciado, dijo a sus discípulos: “Recoged los pedazos que sobraron, para que no se pierda nada.” 13 Recogieron, pues, y llenaron doce cestas de pedazos, que de los cinco panes de cebada sobraron a los que habían comido. 14 Entonces aquellos hombres, cuando vieron el milagro que Jesús había hecho, dijeron: Verdaderamente Éste es el Profeta que había de venir al mundo. 15 Y percibiendo Jesús que habían de venir para tomarle por fuerza y hacerle rey, volvió a retirarse al monte Él solo.

Luke 11:14-28

14 Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. 15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” 16 while others, to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. 18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22 but when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoil. 23 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 24 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.” 20 “Pero si yo por el dedo de Dios echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente el reino de Dios ha llegado a vosotros.” 21 “Cuando el hombre fuerte armado guarda su palacio, en paz está lo que posee.” 22 “Pero cuando viene otro más fuerte que él y lo vence, le quita todas sus armas en que confiaba, y reparte sus despojos.” 23 “El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no recoge, desparrama.” 24 “Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale del hombre, anda por lugares secos, buscando reposo; y no hallándolo, dice: Regresaré a mi casa de donde salí.” 25 “Y viniendo, la halla barrida y arreglada.” 26 “Entonces va, y toma otros siete espíritus peores que él; y entrados, habitan allí; y el postrer estado de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el primero.” 27 Y aconteció que diciendo estas cosas, una mujer de entre la multitud, levantando la voz, le dijo: Bienaventurado el vientre que te trajo, y los pechos que mamaste. 28 Y Él dijo: “Antes bienaventurados los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la guardan.”

Matthew 15:21-28

21 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was *xphealed instantly.

Sea hecho contigo como quieres.” Y su hija fue sanada desde aquella hora.

Matthew 4:1-11

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written,‘Man shall not live by bread alone,but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up,lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” 11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.

Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21

1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. *xwAnd your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love *xxto stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

16 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

De cierto os digo: Ya tienen su recompensa.” 6 “Mas tú, cuando ores, entra en tu alcoba, y cerrada tu puerta ora a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará en público.”

16 “Y cuando ayunéis, no seáis austeros, como los hipócritas; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer a los hombres que ayunan. De cierto os digo que ya tienen su recompensa.” 17 “Pero tú, cuando ayunes, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;” 18 “para no parecer a los hombres que ayunas, sino a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará en público.” 19 “No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan.” 20 “Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla, ni el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan.” 21 “Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón.”

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Si yo hablase lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo caridad, vengo a ser como metal que resuena, o címbalo que retiñe. 2 Y si tuviese el don de profecía, y entendiese todos los misterios y toda ciencia; y si tuviese toda la fe, de tal manera que trasladase los montes, y no tengo caridad, nada soy. 3 Y si repartiese todos mis bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo caridad, de nada me sirve. 4 La caridad es sufrida, es benigna; La caridad no tiene envidia, la caridad no es jactanciosa, no se envanece; 5 no hace nada indebido, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa el mal; 6 no se goza en la injusticia, mas se goza en la verdad; 7 todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta. 8 La caridad nunca deja de ser; mas las profecías se acabarán, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia acabará. 9 Porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos; 10 mas cuando venga lo que es perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará. 11 Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño, mas cuando ya fui hombre hecho, dejé lo que era de niño. 12 Y ahora vemos por espejo, oscuramente; mas entonces veremos cara a cara; ahora conozco en parte; mas entonces conoceré como soy conocido. 13 Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y la caridad, estas tres; pero la mayor de ellas es la caridad.

Luke 8:4-15

4 And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, he said in a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. 8 And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded *xxa hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, *xy“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” 9 And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, 10 he said, To you it has been given to know *xathe secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 The ones along the path are those who have heard. Then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. 14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. 15 As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

4 Y cuando se juntó una gran multitud, y vinieron a Él de cada ciudad, les dijo por parábola: 5 “El sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y al sembrarla, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue hollada; y las aves del cielo la comieron.” 6 “Y otra parte cayó sobre la piedra; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.” 7 “Y otra parte cayó entre espinos; y creciendo los espinos juntamente con ella, la ahogaron.” 8 “Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y nació, y llevó fruto a ciento por uno.” Y hablando estas cosas, dijo a gran voz: “El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga. ” 9 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Qué significa esta parábola? 10 Y Él dijo: “A vosotros os es dado conocer los misterios del reino de Dios; mas a los otros por parábolas, para que viendo no vean, y oyendo no entiendan.” 11 “Ésta es, pues, la parábola: La semilla es la palabra de Dios.” 12 “Y los de junto al camino, éstos son los que oyen; y luego viene el diablo y quita la palabra de su corazón, para que no crean y sean salvos.” 13 “Y los de sobre la piedra, son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; pero éstos no tienen raíces; que por un tiempo creen, pero en el tiempo de la prueba se apartan.” 14 “Y la que cayó entre espinos; éstos son los que oyen; mas yéndose, son ahogados de los afanes y las riquezas y los placeres de esta vida, y no llevan fruto.” 15 “Mas la que en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y llevan fruto con paciencia.”
