Luke 24:44-53

44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power *xyfrom on high.” 50 Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

Acts 1:11

1 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 To them he presented himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. 4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two *xwmen stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Lucas 24:44-53

44 Y les dijo: “Éstas son las palabras que os hablé, estando aún con vosotros; que era necesario que se cumpliesen todas las cosas que están escritas de mí en la ley de Moisés, y en los profetas, y en los Salmos.” 45 Entonces les abrió el entendimiento, para que comprendiesen las Escrituras; 46 y les dijo: “Así está escrito, y así fue necesario que el Cristo padeciese, y resucitase de los muertos al tercer día;” 47 “y que se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y la remisión de pecados en todas las naciones, comenzando desde Jerusalén.” 48 “Y vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas.” 49 “Y he aquí, yo enviaré sobre vosotros la promesa de mi Padre: mas vosotros quedaos en la ciudad de Jerusalén hasta que seáis investidos con poder de lo alto.” 50 Y los condujo fuera hasta Betania, y alzando sus manos, los bendijo. 51 Y aconteció que bendiciéndolos, fue apartado de ellos, y llevado arriba al cielo. 52 Y ellos, habiéndole adorado, regresaron a Jerusalén con gran gozo; 53 y estaban siempre en el templo, alabando y bendiciendo a Dios. Amén.

Hechos 1:1-11

1 En el primer tratado, oh Teófilo, he hablado de todas las cosas que Jesús comenzó a hacer y a enseñar, 2 hasta el día en que fue recibido arriba, después de haber dado mandamientos por el Espíritu Santo a los apóstoles que Él había escogido; 3 a quienes también, después de haber padecido, se presentó vivo con muchas pruebas indubitables, siendo visto de ellos por cuarenta días, y hablándoles acerca del reino de Dios. 4 Y estando reunido con ellos, les mandó “que no se fuesen de Jerusalén, sino que esperasen la promesa del Padre, la cual, les dijo, oísteis de mí.” 5 “Porque Juan a la verdad bautizó en agua, mas vosotros seréis bautizados con el Espíritu Santo no muchos días después de estos.” 6 Entonces los que se habían reunido le preguntaron, diciendo: Señor, ¿restaurarás el reino a Israel en este tiempo? 7 Y Él les dijo: “No toca a vosotros saber los tiempos o las sazones, que el Padre puso en su sola potestad;” 8 “pero recibiréis poder cuando haya venido sobre vosotros el Espíritu Santo; y me seréis testigos, a la vez, en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.” 9 Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, viéndolo ellos, fue alzado; y una nube lo recibió y lo encubrió de sus ojos. 10 Y estando ellos con los ojos puestos en el cielo, entre tanto que Él se iba, he aquí dos varones en vestiduras blancas se pusieron junto a ellos; 11 los cuales también les dijeron: Varones galileos, ¿qué estáis mirando al cielo? Este mismo Jesús que ha sido tomado de vosotros al cielo, así vendrá como le habéis visto ir al cielo.

John 16:23-33

23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25 “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.” 29 His disciples said, “Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech! 30 Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God.” 31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; *xlI have overcome the world.”

Juan 16:23-33

23 “En aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.” 24 “Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre; pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.” 25 “Estas cosas os he hablado en parábolas; pero la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré en parábolas, sino que claramente os anunciaré del Padre.” 26 “Aquel día pediréis en mi nombre, y no os digo que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros;” 27 “pues el Padre mismo os ama, porque vosotros me habéis amado, y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.” 28 “Salí del Padre, y he venido al mundo; otra vez dejo al mundo y voy al Padre.” 29 Sus discípulos le dijeron: He aquí ahora hablas claramente, y ninguna parábola dices. 30 Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte; por esto creemos que has venido de Dios. 31 Jesús les respondió: “¿Ahora creéis?” 32 “He aquí la hora viene, y ya ha venido, en que seréis dispersados cada uno a los suyos, y me dejaréis solo; mas no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.” 33 “Estas cosas os he hablado para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción; pero confiad, yo he vencido al mundo.”

John 16:5-15

5 But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

Juan 16:5-15

5 “Mas ahora voy al que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿A dónde vas?” 6 “Antes, porque os he dicho estas cosas, tristeza ha llenado vuestro corazón.” 7 “Pero yo os digo la verdad: Os es necesario que yo me vaya; porque si no me fuera, el Consolador no vendría a vosotros; mas si me fuere, os le enviaré.” 8 “Y cuando Él venga, redargüirá al mundo de pecado, y de justicia, y de juicio.” 9 “De pecado, por cuanto no creen en mí;” 10 “y de justicia, por cuanto voy a mi Padre y no me veréis más;” 11 “y de juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo ya es juzgado.” 12 “Aún tengo muchas cosas que deciros, mas ahora no las podéis llevar.” 13 “Pero cuando el Espíritu de verdad venga, Él os guiará a toda verdad; porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oiga, y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.” 14 “Él me glorificará; porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.” 15 “Todo lo que tiene el Padre, es mío; por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.” 16 “Un poco más, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poco, y me veréis; porque yo voy al Padre.”

John 16:16-22

16 “A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.” 17 So some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, because I am going to the Father’ ?” 18 So they were saying, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’ ? We do not know what he is talking about.” 19 Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’? 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a man has been born into the world. 22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

Juan 16:16-22

16 “Un poco más, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poco, y me veréis; porque yo voy al Padre.” 17 Entonces algunos de sus discípulos dijeron entre ellos: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poco, y no me veréis; y otra vez, un poco, y me veréis, y: Porque yo voy al Padre? 18 Así que decían: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poco? No entendemos lo que habla. 19 Y Jesús sabía que le querían preguntar, y les dijo: “¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poco, y no me veréis; y otra vez, un poco, y me veréis?” 20 “De cierto, de cierto os digo, que vosotros lloraréis y lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará; pero aunque vosotros estéis tristes, vuestra tristeza se convertirá en gozo.” 21 “La mujer cuando da a luz, tiene dolor, porque ha venido su hora; pero después que ha dado a luz un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.” 22 “Así vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; pero os volveré a ver, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie os quitará vuestro gozo.”

1 Pedro 2:21-25

21 Porque para esto fuisteis llamados; pues que también Cristo padeció por nosotros, dejándonos ejemplo, para que vosotros sigáis sus pisadas: 22 El cual no hizo pecado; ni fue hallado engaño en su boca: 23 Quien cuando le maldecían no respondía con maldición; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino que se encomendaba a Aquél que juzga justamente: 24 Quien llevó Él mismo nuestros pecados en su cuerpo sobre el madero, para que nosotros, siendo muertos a los pecados, vivamos a la justicia; por las heridas del cual habéis sido sanados. 25 Porque vosotros erais como ovejas descarriadas; mas ahora habéis vuelto al Pastor y Obispo de vuestras almas.

1 Peter 2:21-25

21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
